French Copywriter

Strathcom Media Inc. is looking for a French-speaking Copywriter with an interest in the Automotive Industry.

Working in collaboration with our Web Designers and Online Marketing Managers, you will help set the spell to win over French-speaking customers for our dealer clients. To excel at this position, you require both creativity and discipline: the creativity to empathize with your audience and write relevant content that will break through the static, and the discipline to remain on subject, to continue to push yourself to surpass your previous efforts, and to remain motivated when tasks become routine. When the time comes to move on, you will have graduated from your position with an accelerated education in the following: search engine optimization (SEO), paid search, digital marketing, group collaboration, and more than you thought one could ever know about the Ford F-150.


  • Write, edit, and proofread French/English materials, including the following:
  • Web-ready, optimized content for client websites, like this Lexus ES 350 description
  • Blog post on internet marketing and automotive topics
  • Newsletters & other SMI marketing materials (e.g. video scripts, staff bios)
  • SEO page meta titles and descriptions
  • Other internal and client-based publication materials as needed
  • Understand and effectively use social media in French
  • Track and report on client results using Google Analytics performance metrics
  • Learning new SEO techniques and incorporate them into content on websites
  • Stay up to date with industry news and trends to become an authority on both your skillset and the subjects for which you are creating content

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 – 5 years of content development experience, and experience writing French copy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English
  • Impeccable spelling and grammar (errors on your application will weigh heavily against you)
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English Studies, or a related concentration)
  • Strong understanding of the digital ecosystem
  • Organized, detail-oriented multi-tasker who thrives in fast-paced environment
  • Able to prioritize & meet deadlines for client projects, working independently or with a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with newsletter software an asset
  • Must have a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, and be dedicated to providing consistent, quality work amidst multiple projects and deadlines
  • SEO copywriting experience is an asset
  • Interest in the automotive & online marketing industries is an asset (but so are “outsider eyes”)
  • Must play foosball or display a strong willingness to apprentice in the craft
