Full Stack Software Developer, Inventory

About D2C Media - Strathcom

Since 1997, we’ve been at the forefront of web development, digital advertising, inventory management, online advertising and syndication, specializing in automotive website solutions. From dealer websites and national advertising campaigns, to search engine optimization, we create effective systems and solutions for dealers across Canada.

About the role

D2C Media - Strathcom is looking to add an experienced full stack developer to our Inventory team. The Inventory team is responsible for powering hundreds of dealer websites across Canada. Every day, we process more than 500,000 vehicles and serve up to 10 million photo requests.

We are kicking off a new greenfield project to build a new certified site. You will have the opportunity to influence technical direction for this new project, while supporting existing sites and systems. Throughout it all, you will be solving complex problems, working with autonomy, and collaborating with a tight knit team.

Role Expectations

  • Have a strong continuous improvement mindset
  • Collaborate across teams and functions to drive Inventory initiatives
  • Build fast, performant web applications that are simple to use for all site visitors
  • Drive technology choices for new and existing projects
  • Maintain and extend our existing Inventory APIs
  • Apply strong technical expertise to maintain and adopt best practices
  • Effectively identify technical debt and lack of understanding
  • Be open, give trust, and own your impact

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of industry experience building web applications
  • Degree or diploma in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience working with Python for back end services
  • Experience working with JavaScript and component based front end frameworks
  • Familiarity with cloud computing, ideally AWS
  • Passion for delivering products end-to-end, from ideation through planning and scoping to implementation and experimental A/B testing
  • Commitment to constant learning and teaching
  • Experience with Django, Vue and Docker are a plus
